East Devon Riding for the Disabled

Category: Adult & Young Persons Mental Health, Dementia, Learning difficulties & autism, Loneliness, Physical Health

Our riders from around Exeter and East Devon are children and adults of all ages and disabilities; physical, mental, behavioural and sensory.

RDA classes provide opportunity for riders to experience the joy of being with horses.

Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is a way for people with disabilities to enjoy the experience of being with horses whilst gaining therapeutic exercise.

Our classes have many benefits including:

  • Balance
  • Coordination
  • Concentration
  • Physycal and Mental Control
  • Comunication
  • Confidence and Self-esteem
  • Independence
  • Social Contact

Although RDA is a national organisation, each group is self-funded and run entirely by volunteers. The national association provide support for each group through advice and training, ensuring the group is working in compliance with the many guidelines surrounding health and safety, and providing the necessary insurance.
